Neverland Found
For my Documentary Photography response to the Dreamscapes Project, I photographed in Northern Cyprus around the city of Varosha, Famagusta. This abandoned city since 1974 stands frozen in time, its crumbling walls and empty streets echoing the stories of those who once lived there. I believe that through the lens, this decaying landscape becomes a metaphor for Neverland - an enchanted place that exists beyond the boundaries of reality, where time stands still and the impossible feels tangible. Each of my photographs captures the eerie beauty of derelict buildings and overgrown pathways, transforming them into a dreamscape where memories, lost adventures, and forgotten dreams linger like whispers. In these images, the abandoned city is reborn as Neverland - a place where imagination knows no limits and the magic of youth is always just out of reach.
